History:
Easy
meal that combines one of catalan cooking keys, the sofregit
with noodles and pork, one of the most used products. Here spare ribs
are used thanks to the flavour of its meat, close to the bone.
Pasta
was introduced in catalan cooking centuries ago. Semolina association
(gremi
de semolers, pdf in catalan) is already documented on 1722 in
Barcelona. Most of them associates had an italian origin.
Pasta was made by semolina association using the flour
that was produced in the lands close to Barcelona till 1916 when they
became the soup pasta manufacturers.
Thanks
to its easy production an low cost, pasta has become a basic product,
specially, in mediterranean cookings.
Many
celebrations take place in catalan tradition once grape harvest is finished.
